More BOMB that you’ve never ever heard.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD the 38-meg high-encode rate 22-minute MP3 of the 1986 Bomb demo 17 Reasons Why. (Right-click to save.)
The four songs on this demo are:
1. Madness
2. I’m Not Restless
3. I Loved You, then I Died
4. Gigi
UPDATE: This was NOT engineered by Jay Crawford, we’re still looking for that tape (”17 Reasons Why.”)
I was confused in my memory of the recording (which is not too surprising, as I was pretty confused back then, AND it was a long time ago. D’oh!)
This tape was the unnamed demo recorded and engineered by Dave Bock at Hyde Street Studios. It was executive produced by Kirsten Bock.
This was a demo in preparation for the “Elvis In Hell” sessions.

Thanks for the shareing this with us. It is funny, I am in my 40s and just now discovering this music that was written and recorded when I was in my 20s. I find that I like it. I guess I am just a late bloomer.

fukin awesome. it’s like your favorite band that used to be a metallica cover band but now is a bomb cover band or something. really loved it. i was suffering one of the worst migraine headaches i’ve had in years. with head under the faucet in bath trying to get rid of the pain but still blasting this new find. not sure if it was the acoustics of the bathroom or the jack hammer drill stabbing me in my right eye but it sounded really incredible. maybe even took my mind off of the bomb in my head a bit.
headache didn’t go away so i took a valium and listened to it again with an ice pack on my head. one of the three put me to sleep.
pleeeeeeze keep these new ‘more bomb that you never ever heard’ finds coming. i’m starting to like you again ;-}

I teach Psychology, and it’s funny… students are so damned lazy these days…They want to get a job in, say, marketing research, so I tell them, “Call a company that does marketing research, ask for human resources and tell them you are a soon-to-be college grad and want to know what they are looking for on a resume and in a new hire…”
They stare at me, confused… so, at times, I have shown them your book on Amazon and said something along the lines of: “This guy figured out how to make and produce and market movies and novels, and even wrote books on it…and he did more drugs than you could do in a lifetime, so start these treating moments in life as a process, and not an event…”
They still stare at me confused, but at least it makes ME feel better!
The early-early Bomb stuff is definitely raw… having listened to some of the more “refined” stuff, the old material took me back to the live shows, which I’m not sure I truly appreciated at the time…
Anyway, I enjoy lurking on your blog, but felt compelled to say “hi.”

man, first the Hate Fed Love demo and now this……and if I understand correctly, there’s more!? May our thoughts be with Jay so he finds the missing tape(s).
I’ll be transferring the audio and video from the Bomb reunion in SF and Bomb live at Emo’s in Houston as soon as possible!

I FOUND OLD BOMB! My album Hits of Acid was jacked years ago…and since I longed to hear the words..”Anna takes me in her mouth and spits me out in Catholic guilt….always my favorite This was such a gift to hear! Now I can prove to people that the shit I walk around singing is real….this was such a vital part of my formative years….thank you for keeping it alive…

Yay! Yup.
Bomb is probably one of the most stolen bands ever. Stores didn’t stock us because people stole so many of our albums.
