This whole thing about deploying troops within the borders of the country is, I believe, a response to the fact that the powers-that-be are scared shitless, and they know that the levee's about to break any minute now.

Sometimes I think I'd like to get the hell out of this country before it does.

Well when choosing the lesser of two evils,
maybe you'd consider your personal bottom line in dollars and cents:

I would, if I had to pay.

>I’m not so sure the Dems, if they get power, will be less inclined to institute some extreme measures.

Yup. I'm in a real quandary this election, because I feel that, more than any election in my life, voting will be voting for the lesser of two evils. I CANNOT vote for McCain, but I can't stomach voting for Obama. Hell, I'd actually love to vote for a black guy, think it would be a kick, but not one who wants to take my guns away.

I watch a lot of C-SPAN. I was pretty happy to see the Republicans actually acting like Republicans and fighting harder than the Dems against the blank check for Wall Street. The Democrats are giving pretty speeches against it (I liked seeing Congressman Brad Sherman, from So Cal, saying early this morning, "The establishment is demanding a trillion dollars in unmarked bills....") but the Dems seem pretty much ready to sign regardless of their feelings.

>the other reason this shit happens is at least in part due to the complete unwillingness of average Americans to hit the motherfucking streets, and hit them OFTEN.

I'd take it further. I think it's the unwillingness of average Americans to even know what's going on. Everyone knows who's on American Idol, but how many Americans even know who their congressman is??????

There was a rare Dead Kennedy's song years ago called, "Kinky Sex Makes the World Go 'Round." It was the instrumental track for "Holiday in Cambodia", without the singing, with Jello talking over it, doing voices, pretending as a phone call between Reagen and Thatcher. It had Reagen talking Thatcher into going to war with anyone they can, to help the economies of both countries. Thatcher is getting turned on by it, and sounds like she's having an orgasm.

In the song "Reagen" says "We've got our college kids so interested in beer, we can put a nuclear stockpile in their backyard and they won't even know what it is."

THAT is the problem with America. (If you add a few items after beer, like "Reality TV, flat-screen TVs, SUVs, iPods, MySpace, shitty bloodless fake alt-rock bands", etc, then terrorize America about terrorism and gay marriage through manipulating the media.)

And in the old days, going to war, if nothing else, DID help the economy. The New Bush Order has even changed that rule.

I think the answer to all this lies in quantum physics.
Something I have been thinking about - <a href="http://www.ipod.org.uk/reality/reality_entangled.asp" rel="nofollow">Quantum Entanglement</a>.

Whoever wins the election, his actual job won't be President. It'll be captain of the motherfucking Titanic, steaming full speed ahead towards the icebergs, any one of which could severely damage the boat if not sink it completely.

The things you're witnessing are a direct result of an ever-more fascist-leaning government. I'm not so sure the Dems, if they get power, will be less inclined to institute some extreme measures. Humans like power, including Democrat humans.

BTW, the other reason this shit happens is at least in part due to the complete unwillingness of average Americans to hit the motherfucking streets, and hit them OFTEN. No news media can ignore millions of people in the streets, shouting (or saying it in a reasonable tone of voice, if you prefer) in essence: We will NOT put up with this shit and you WILL put an end to it or you won't have a job come next election. That gets their attention.

I don't hold any place up as a utopia. But I have reason to go to Europe twice a year and the difference between it and the US is like night and day. There's a lot America and Americans can learn from Europe. You can't ignore the differences when you compare America with Europe as opposed to, say, comparing it with Mexico or other third-world places.

It's time for Americans to stop saying: Our situation / living conditions are better than [insert name of shithole country here] and START saying: How come we don't have it as good as [insert name of almost any other Western nation here]?
