30 years ago today
(not sure of the exact date, but it was Ash Wednesday in 1979) - was the first time I felt the bliss of narcotics. In a hospital. I loved it. It probably helped contribute to a lot of my troubles later in life.
I’m off narcotics now for many many years, and am happy.
I was given demerol in the hospital. I was in there with burns on my ass from a hazing incident at The Church Farm School. (now called “The School at Church Farm”). Two kids, Patrick and Jim (I won’t post their last names, no reason to) burned me in a really nasty hazing incident. I was in the hospital for a week and they got kicked out of school. Patrick was allowed to return the following year. It sucked having to see that guy every day.
I’m having a much better day today than I had that day 30 years ago!

Man.
We’ve all said: “I got my ass burned,” but most of us mean it metaphorically!
Greetings from rainy Vienna, brother. Off to Barcelona tomorrow, then back to Vienna, then back eventually to Darkest You-Know-The-Place.

Crimony! I’m pretty sure you’re a little bit younger than me and I was 16 at the start of the ‘79 school year. Were you a freshman or just new at the school and in need of punishment for the horrible transgression of being new?
I can’t believe they let someone back who deliberately put you in the hospital. That’s despicable.

they let him back because he was valedictorian AND a letterman in three sports.
That was a very selfish school board.

valedictorian
letterman
psychopath
I think that last one should take precedence over the first two.
