As a California escapee, I can relate of course.

I carry regularly into the bank, all the stores, the library, sheriff's office, courthouse, everywhere I go but the post office - which I stay OUT of as much as possible.

I've read that before, Big Ugly, but it hardly seems wise twisting the federal snout to challenge them with it. More fun is working to make both the fed and the "post office" irrelevant.

Have a safe trip to Cheyenne. Watch out for the wind from Glendo through Chugwater. I can get nasty, but with the weather we have been having, I doubt you will enounter anything but a breeze.

I OCed in the Mayflower's bar last week after the Tea Party meeting. Nobody cared, but one guy's eyes got real big when he saw it! :)

You guys are a hoot ! I smile at each post you make.
By the way those fences you mentioned are Jackelope traps. In the winter the wind blows the snow up and over the fences until a drift forms on one side of the fence, making the fence unseen. The Jackelope love to run over large mounds of snow. When they run over these drifts they fall into the fencing where their horns become tangled. Then it is easy for the locals to walk along and collect their trophy bucks, while letting the little ones go for next year.
Enjoy the rest of your trip !

It was a blast.

And Micky Dees have been targeted in the past by crazed shooters, so it's a good place to have protection.

Gun don't do nutin' to keep that food from killin' ya though!

Hi, Michael,
I agree with The Count! There are no laws against the open carry of firearms in the State of Wyoming. It would seem that it is perfectly legal to open carry into the Governor's office.
One other thing I would mention, and I have posted this information of FSW, According to U.S.C. Title 18 Part 1 Chapter 44 Sec. 930 - it is legal to carry in federally owned buildings.
(a) Except as provided in subsection (d), whoever knowingly possesses or causes to be present a firearm of other dangerous weapon in a Federal facility (other than a Federal court facility), or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.
(d) Subsection (a) shall not apply to:
 (3) the lawful carrying of firearms or other dangerous weapons in a Federal facility incident to hunting or other lawful purposes.

I have this section printed and carry it upon my person at all times, along with the 'concealed carry' restrictions.
Considering that prairie dogs and coyotes are open year around, with restriction on calibre, one may (within reason) be on the way to hunt, thus incident to hunting. Also, since open carry is a 'legal purpose' that is included in subsection (d), item (3).
