Loons. I’m a peace-lovin’ guy.

By the way, I replied on that site, and got banned. In case they delete my post, here’s what got me banned:
My problem with leftists (or more correctly statists, which would include some Right-Wing types) is not what they say. It’s what they do. Government IS a collective hallucination, just like the stock market. It only functions when people put faith in it. (and lately neither are functioning well.)
I don’t care what people SAY, I care what they DO. And the current administration (and for the most part, the last administration - Bush was no friend of freedom) are shredding the Constitution and shoving a lot of “agendas” down people’s throats.
That’s what everyone’s upset about.
Government should not be looked at to solve problems. The free market would do it better. I mean, really, do you want to put your health care in charge of the people who run the POST OFFICE????
Our US Federal Government can only get so big before it drowns in the tar pits like the dinosaur it is. We are not terrorists, we are people saying “Look what you’re doing!”, trying to put some common sense breaks on things.
Obama is a charismatic “leader”, and you are all falling over yourselves to sniff his King George throne. He’s no friend of freedom. He’s a tyrant, just like George Bush was. He’s a smoother-talking George Bush.
UPDATE (Sept 28):
By the way, check out that Democratic Underground link again. They’ve deleted all the posts favoring my band, then said “We’ve alerted the authorities.”
Not very Democratic, those folks.

You know you’re doing something right once you start scaring people and/or pissing them off.

So true.
(even though they’re WRONG….I am NOT inciting violence or terrorism. It’s just more left-wing hate speech.)
I guess their response is the country version of that old saying “You’re no one in Hollywood until someone wants you dead!”

I have listened to you enough to tell that at heart you are a peace loving guy.
Still, I have to admit that I find this particular song a bit disturbing. And I can see how it could be misinterpreted easily. I have not read up much though on the news story you referenced in the song, so maybe I am getting an inaccurate picture.

i’m just paintin’ word pictures. Like the rappers do.

Fair enough. I guess I would have a double standard if it was a hip hop song. The gun certainly makes the band song more intimidating though!

The way things are headed I would not rule it out. Just make sure you don’t talk about Jesus in front of anybody and you should be safe.

If you lived in Oregon, I’d buy you a beer. Living in Portland - certainly the most liberal large city in the North West - I interact with the liberals you describe too often. Over all, I think you can find a large portion of “liberals” (who probably fit the term “radicals” more) who agree with a general distrust of government in unnecessary affairs. As a recent veteran, I have seen successful government in the form of the US military due to strict regulation and clear goals.
It seems to me, philosophically, government efficiency is in direct proportion to citizen participation. We could, theoretically, have an effective government, if people got of their lazy asses - and that’s not going to happen.
Best of luck in what ever you find yourself doing. Please remember, this system isn’t going to change unless the two “camps” in American politics start working together against common enemies.

I’ve had similar run-ins with the eco-freaks at TerraPass.com. If you dare to say something contrary to “The Earth Is Melting” mantra, or even pose questions to their readers asking for explanations, you get your posts deleted or edited.
Why the censorship? Don’t they believe their followers have the mental horsepower to read something contrary to their Talking Points and come to their own conclusions?
Apparently not.

screw em.

Naw, other mike, it’s that they know they are wrong and don’t want anyone to say it out loud.

I think in their case underground is a synonym for cesspool.
What has been pointed out in several places and continual amazes me is that the Democrats yearn for a dictator. Even Friedman waxes longingly at Chinese Autocracy.
And then you have douches like Michael Medved that has vapors over people exercising more than one right at a time, such as free speech and carrying a firearm.

“alerted the authorities”???
For…what? Did you forget to attach a Federally mandated strong-lyrical content label?
Hey, how about a song about Roman Polanski and his defenders?
